Southern Konnevesi National Park - 10-year Jubilee Tour

In Southern Konnevesi National Park, visitors can enjoy big lake in the shelter of the numerous islands. Due to the shallow water and underwater rocks, there is hardly any motorboating, leaving space for paddlers to wonder among smooth glaciated rocks and vertical cliff walls. In the clear water, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the depths that are the domain of the wild lake brown trout. Breathtaking contrasts characterise this national park. You can trek from herb-rich forests to high cliffs for a view over the magnificent landscape of the osprey.

Meeting at Tavinsulka Aquatic sports centrum at 9 am on Saturday. Collecting the gears and drive to Hanhitaipale fishing harbour. There we have a quick snack before departing to the paddling. It takes about 1,5-hour to reach our transition point for hiking.  The 3km challenging terrain leads to Vuorikalaja pond, where we will have warm lunch at a fireplace.  On the way back we may climb on top of Kalaja vuori, then start our return trip to Jyväskylä.
