thousand lake National Parks & world heritage tour (8days)
Departing form Helsinki airport towards Hämeenlinna, to visit one of the most intact medieval fortresses of the Arctic region. From here, we continue to Padasjoki, where a canoe or SUP tour will bring us to the Päijänne National Park.
This day is for UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Struve Geodetic Arc checkpoint is a short hiking trail up to Oravivuori hill, where beautiful scenery can enjoyed to lake Päijänne, the second largest and deepest lake in Finland. The Petäjävesi old church is a masterpiece of wood construction and architecture. For the evening we head to Jyväskylä, the Alvar Aalto Capital.
The Old Big Tree was born in 1518 and the new Big Tree in 1641, on a place, which is today the Pyhä-Häkki National Park. To visit them, we depart to an easy hiking trail. From here we continue to the Southern Konnevesi National Park for another, scenery rewarding hike around Vuorikalaja pond and Kalaja-hill. Maybe and Osprey will come to check on us from the sky.
Järvisydän manor, in the Linnansaari National Park, found in the mid 1600’s is one of the oldest operating tourism and travel establishment in Finland. During the paddling cruise we have the chance to see the Saimaa ringed seal (Pusa hispida saimensis), one of the most endangered mammal species on Earth.
Savonlinna is the home of the world famous annual Opera Festival and is one of the rare intact castles of the north, right on the historical border of the Three-Crown Sweden and tsar-Russia. In the afternoon we go for a short hiking tour in Punkaharju Nature Reserve, which has been an internationally known tourist destination for 200 years, due to its exceptional natural beauty.
As we continue to south, the spectacular Imartankoski, one of the largest volume waterfalls in Fenno-Scandinavia, will mesmerise us. After that a guided visit at the Verla Groundwood and Board Mill, the third UNESCO World Heritage site of this tour provides insight to industrial history.
The medieval centrum of Porvoo on the shore of the Baltic Sea is recognized as historically and culturally significant and one of the National landscapes of Finland. Optional programme is to deviate to Pyhtää Sirius Sport Resort indoor flying tube.
Returning to the capital, in Helsinki we have the chance to visit Suomenlinna, the fourth UNESCO World Heritage site during this tour, or go to the centrum, to shopping on Aleksanderinkatu or in the harbour fish market.

Including transport from/to Helsinki Airport, three meals per day, accommodation in countryside manors or *** hotels according to availability, entry fees to the places of interests, sports equipment when needed, and guidance.
